Currently Listening
Tell Me What You Know
By Sara Groves

I eat lunch with a bunch of coaches.  Two lady coaches and four guy coaches who coach soccer, basketball, golf, wrestling, and football.  When the school year started and I found out that I was on "A Lunch," I was disappointed.  This is because "A Lunch" is from 10:40 to 11:10.  This is an incredibly early time for lunch, but my body acclimated to this feeding schedule quickly.  What I had a problem with, though, was finding people to eat with.  At the middle school, all the teachers crowded into the teacher's lounge to eat their meals.  There were no people, however, to be found at the high school.  I was perplexed because I knew that teachers had to be eating somewhere.  Eventually, I discovered that all the coaches ate together in one of the coach's classrooms because they didn't like the gossip that took place in the teacher's lounge.

Anyway, I look forward to my lunch time each day.  I doubt I would seek these people out as my friends at school, but our lunch time has forced us together.  Hearing their stories and perspectives on school politics is always interesting and entertaining.

This is going nowhere, but I've already typed it, so I'm posting it!  (Terrible, I know!)  Time to bake a lemon cake and grade expository essays.

OKAY OKAY, I will fix the formatting next time! I am new to the whole xanga thing and haven't quite figured it out yet! I love strawberry cake! My friend's mom would make one every year for us because we both have February birthdays. It was a little treat to look forward to every year. I, however, prefer pies. I make a mean chocolate ribbon pie for pretty much any family gathering. Erin can attest to the scrumptious-ness of my pie.

In my lunchroom, there are two tables.  One table is filled with grumpy, nagging, hot-flashing women who are unhappy with everything.  I, on the other hand, sit at the other table.  We do not gossip.  We do not gripe (too much...).  We do not have hot flashes.  It is amazing at how disgruntled people can get.  Why come to work if you hate it so much!??!?!?  Enjoy the lemon cake!  Did you stir it with your fingers...?

Well I will actually be spending all morning tomorrow working with microfiche!  It seems hard, but I am determined to make best friends with all the librarians because I am there so much! How did the lemon cake turn out?

It didn't go. Perhaps we had the same librarian. I went to the fourth floor and they told me I needed to go to the second floor. So I went there and the guy asked me what class it was for. I told him it was for Historical Research and he said he had never heard of it (which means he's new to working the government documents area.) So then he told me to go back to the fourth floor. By then I was getting really frustrated and was feeling ill so I just left and will be doing my microfiche work today after I work! I believe that we host only Betty Crocker at my house as well! She makes the best brownies...or should I say she helps me make the best brownies!!! Did you finish all of your microfiche or do you still have more to do?

Ok...I know it looks like I am a loser because I have commented 3 times in a row, but I just wanted to say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Samoa girl scout cookies. I honestly think they could be my favorite dessert over all!  Good choice.  And now I will not comment anymore.

Reading your post and the comments has really made me hungry for just about any dessert!  And it's essential to find lunchtime release of some kind, no matter what your job.  In our office we just let loose and chat about anything having nothing to do with work during lunch and it's fantastic!  Yay for finding the no-gossip room
